Pre-requisites:
- An isolation valve on the air supply line at the points of use.
- Power point within 1m of the site of reconnection.
- New air supply and nitrogen tubing of suitable type and pressure rating - at least 16 bar recommended.
- Safety glasses and any other required PPE.
- General tools.
- Leak detection equipment.
To shutdown and disconnect:
1. Turn off the air supply to the generator.
2. All the unit to demand air for a while to deplete the air in the air feed line (8mm tubing) to allow you to safety disconnect by pushing the collar on the Air Inlet connect firmly, then simultaneously withdraw tube. Some gentle rotation of the tube may be required.
Note: If the tube cannot easily be removed, ensure that no residual pressure is present in the line!
3. Allow the nitrogen tank pressure (read from the from LCD) to drop to <10psi. It is useful to leave a small amount of nitrogen in the tank, but the pressure must be low enough to a) allow safe disconnection of the outlet tube, and b) permit physical removal of the outlet tube.
4. Disconnect the nitrogen outlet tube (6mm) by pushing the collar on the Air Inlet connect firmly, then simultaneously withdraw tube. Some gentle rotation of the tube may be required.
Note: If the tube cannot easily be removed, allow the pressure to deplete further before retrying.
5. Switch off and disconnect power to the unit.
6. RECOMMENDED: Fit a 6mm push-fit plug to the nitrogen outlet to keep the CMS material stored in a dry nitrogen environment. This will allow a reduced recomissioning time.
To re-commission:
1. Connect the 8mm air supply line to the generator.
2. Remove the 6mm plug from the nitrogen outlet (if fitted).
3. Open the isolation valve for the air supply, ensuring that the supply is suitable (dry, particulate and oil free to the required specification). Carefully check and rectify any leaks.
4. Connect power to the generator and switch on.
5. Allow the generator to deliver nitrogen to atmosphere for 1 hour.
6. Connect the 6mm outlet nitrogen tube to the application.
7. Set a demand at approximately 50% of the stated specification for the generator (e.g. 15LPM for an HF30), and allow to equilibrate for 24 hours.
